For the uninitiated, B2B would mean Business to Business versus the Business to Consumer. Here are 8 B2B techniques that you can use and is current as of 2019.

The List

  1. Posting to forums including Reddit.com – and that is because lots of people go to Reddit.com to read up and post about topics not available anywhere else. Furthermore Reddit.com is ranked very highly in the US (10th position as of September 2019) and the World (18th as of September 2019) and that will help you out with your brand awareness and SEO if you include links.
  2. Use Paid Advertisements especially LinkedIn.com – Linkedin.com has a relatively new offering of Paid Search ads where you can advertise similar to Facebook Advertising. You can create brand awareness, get website visits, get engagements, get video views, generate leads, have website conversions and post jobs. Linkedin.com is also ranked 21st in the US so this is viable to get a wide audience and is also geared towards business individuals.
  3. Facebook Groups – Facebook.com have specific groups with specific topics such as the “Dental Books and Lectures” group for those marketing to dentists. A post inside there can garner the attention to your business and put you in touch with similar minded professions almost instantaneously.
  4. Leverage Social Networking Channel including Twitter.com and Instagram.com – using the power of the hashtag, you can post, reply and like people who are in the same business as you. Twitter and Instagram have members in the millions so you are bound to reach people with similar business interests.
  5. Use Medium.com – this is a great website to build an audience for your website. Essentially, you would upload your own articles or whitepapers pertaining to your business and Medium.com would help generate an audience for you through their platform and also boost your website’s SEO provided that the article had your website on it.
  6. Email Marketing including Call-to-Action in the signature line of all your emails – this one is simple. Just add a link to your website and a Call-to-action and you have just advertised to everyone you emailed even when it is to do with different topics. You are just putting the word out there to your business contacts and you have broken at least the first barrier to contact – the introduction. The rest is up to you.
  7. Use Quora.com – this website is the second most used reference website in the world, the first being Wikipedia. Quora.com is a user generated content website where a user can ask a question and other users will answer. Other users can then vote on the usefulness of the answer. Since this is user-generated content, you can ask questions and/or answer with information pertinent to your business. See how that works? Wikipedia is unable to do the same because moderators help prevent unnecessary topics and edit out biased articles.
  8. Collaborate with other Brands – this would help two (or more) companies help each other out. An example would be Aston Martin and the James Bond Franchise. Aston Martin because a mainstream car manufacturer after appearing in several 007 movies in the early 2000s but would not have had that success if not for the latter. Aston Martin made a lot of money while only giving away a handful of cars to be driven, shot at, blown-up, collided with and driven off a cliff.
